A day to forget as we received a football lesson. Thanks to Hails, Caruso, Stirlo and Reece who never stopped all day. Boys I've said what I had to say on the day and how you respond is your choice. Cheers Caino

Our game against Hallam was played at times in trying conditions, to the boys credit they all battled hard in the first half, the mood in the rooms was upbeat and we were confident that we could bring the same intensity in the second half. This was not to be our boys were completely out classed by a team that set up well and continually repelled any attempt to attack. We struggled to put a score on the board only managing 3 goals straight to Hallam 28 scoring shots. The scoreboard was disappointing however it didn't really reflect some of the efforts. A great first game by Shaun who did a great job on a couple of classy opponents.

With both our ruckman unavailable, it was a great effort for CJ to play his first game for the year! He was very competitive considering he's on one leg, it was a huge effort.

Mash stood up all day along with Hutch, Dogga, Teal kicking 2 of our 3 goals was good again. The boys down back were under enormous pressure and they did a good job considering. Aaron tried hard too, under duress. The answer is we need to keep persevering and get back on track. The bye will freshen the playing group and the coaches.

Let's put in a 4qtr effort against today's opposition and bounce back with big win.

Presidents Notes
We all at CPLFNC are still proud of all our players despite no official wins for the club last round. Both footy and netball dept’s are on a journey of rebuild under new coaching, please be patient and stay positive - we must understand that along the journey we will cop some less than favourable results. A weekend off coming up will help freshen up and mend all those who have been struck with the Carrum Flu or by injury which also has become a bit of an epidemic also. Special shout out to 2 favourite footballers who copped nasty injuries against Hallam – Charlie Barton Concussion and Dylan Cott knee injury.

I would like to commend Hallam on their help and being great Hosts on match day.

We still want to commend our Business Partners, Members and Supporters for really getting around the club and our players it has been phenomenal!

I hope all can get on board for our big Ladies Day on our May 20th Home Game. It is a ripper of a day and tickets will sell out fast! Contact the club ASAP!

Come on, Join the Pride - we at the CPLFNC are still welcoming new sponsors, players, members, volunteers....so get on board as the Lions are on the prowl in 2017!!
